Published by GOST Books November 2015

Special Edition now available for presale

The Death of a Beautiful Subject is a new book by Sophy Rickett featuring an appropriated 'accidental archive' of photographs of butterflies made by her father. These photographs are reproduced alongside a narrative text by the artist which moves back and forth in time. This project develops Rickett's interest in the encounters between people and the natural world and is her most autobiographical project to date, exploring themes of dislocation, separation and reconciliation.

A Collectors Edition of 50 boxed copies including a limited edition print is now available to pre-oder from GOST Books for £150.

The 185 mm x 145 mm hardback, clothbound book presented in a shot cloth-covered and foiled box. The box includes a silver gelatin print on fibre-based paper (200mm x 250mm) of The Death of a Beautiful Subject (6) / Comma on Bracken (2) in a limited edition of 50, signed, numbered and dated on reverse.
