KITSCH OU PAS KITSCH
Institut des Cultures d'Islam, Paris
17 September 2015 - 17 January 2016
This new major exhibition at the Institute of Islamic Cultures brings together five great names of contemporary art from the Arab world, Turkey and Iran, including Lara Baladi. The exhibition questions the notion of kitsch, its identification and a simple reading of its categorisation. Baladi's tapestry work Oum El Dounia, which is also currently on display at the Arthur M.Sackler Gallery at the Smithsonian Institute in Washington DC, US, is included in the exhibition.
